People finder plugin
« on: September 04, 2002, 10:51:50 am »
Hey Saint/Planet Jay/admins etc...

I was thinking more about this thread... and wondered.

If I were to make a plugin or a dropin php script that would perform the same function as the original people finder, but  would read the values directly from the YaBB SE mysql database, would you use it?

If done right you could just upload it, link it and go... assuming it doesn't create any load issues on the db (it would be all SELECt statements so It shouldn;'t be too bad).

Please let me know if you'd be hip to that, and if you've made any changes to the default  YaBB SE schema that would monkey wrench my approach.

I currently have other things on my plate (including ubercade) but wanted to gauge your interest first.

Thanks,

Rampy
