25" Monitor in a 25" cab? Should I do it?

I took out the wood framing that held in the 19" monitor and will put in some steel brackets to hold the 25" monitor.

AlanS17 do you have any pics of your Bad Dudes cab finished? Would love to see them!

Should I have said a 25" monitor in a 24" cab?  ;D  It's actually over 25" outside dimensions, 23 3/4" inside as you guys mentioned. The 25" will just fit with a 1/4" or less on each side. Thanks for all the info...
AlanS17:
I sold it to my fraternity to keep in the house when I moved to Dallas. The only picture I have left is a cheap one taken with a camera phone that really doesn't do it much justice. I'll try to get it on here asap.
AlanS17:
Here's the machine (nearly complete) in all it's camera phone darkened pixelated glory.  :P

I took a couple styling cues from the original Street Fighter dedicated cabinets when building the control panel. Plus I wanted to keep the curviness of the cabinet in mind when building the CP.

I tied it all together using the red t-molding as tracing to accentuate the curves and painted the coin door red and added a red speaker grill to match and draw attention away from the control panel which is conseriderably larger than people realize.

Thanks for the picture. That's about what mine will look like with a 35" wide SlikStik on it. I am going to have to trim my cab a bit where it curves out to be able to set the CP where it needs to be.

The SS CP also has a curved front edge and will match the marquee nicely though I don't show it in this sketch. Thanks again.

Lance:
I say go for it.  I have a centipede cab that I put a 25" in.  The width of the cabinet is 23.75" as well.  It fit great and for mame it rocks, since vertical games are basically the same size as a vertical 19".
