| 25" Monitor in a 25" cab? Should I do it? |

I have an old Bad Dudes cab that I can just barely squeeze a 25" standard res monitor into. It will take up almost the entire dimension side to side of the cab. Will it make the cab look funny? Has anyone ever done this? I will put a narrow bezel around the sides. I just can't stand putting a 19" monitor in the cab, I wanted it to be at least 25" so I can play vert. and horz. games. I am not restoring this back, just mameing it. I will have a slikstick classic on it so to some of you, it will look funny anyway! ;D Spara |

Dedicated 25" Neo Geo cabs has a monitor that filled the cabinet, it looks fine. Believe me, no one is going to notice the larger than stock monitor when you have a giant slikstick bolted onto a Data East cabinet that simply has no proper way to take the thing (thos slikstick panels only work looks wise on cabinets that came with control panels wider than the cabinet, basically, 1993 and newer cabinets. |

Thanks for the info. I will be putting in the 25" monitor for sure. The large CP will overhang 5" on each side of the cabinet, it will be a frankenpanel no doubt about it. Now to figure how to bolt it on! ;D Spara |

Well, good luck. And actually, you shouldn't have to squeeze a 25" in, it should fit without squeezing, as a Bad Dudes cabinet is 24" between the rails and a 25" monitor is a bit less than that. |

I think it's actually about 23.75 inches. (I MAMEd one.) The wooden frame makes it easy to install another monitor though. Just cut the frame. However, such a thin wooden frame is probably not a very good idea anyways and you way want to consider building your own out of angle iron or something. This is all in theory, though, because I used a 19" monitor. And by the way... your original post says: " 25" Monitor in a 25" cab? " |
