*MAME TOKENS for sale, LAST CHANCE FOR BRASS!!!*
kujina:
I definitely would be interested:
1. As long as the design was good (I'm sure it would be).
2. As long as it would work with a coin mech bought in the UK.

Well, maybe it's because people don't want to be an ass when their friends come over and they charge them to play. Having a bucket of tokens nearby is a lot easier. And not all arcades were strictly quarter-only.

I'd prefer to wait for 2005, and make a half/mame half BYOAC coin. That way, more sales, since people will be losing tokens as time goes on, plus people coming/leaving the hobby. Heck, you could probably do a run every year!
I'm glad you mentioned mame though. I was kind of offended by people saying "Well some people don't use mame in their cab" last time. If it weren't for mame, we wouldn't be here. We'd be fighting over every classic and non classic cabinet. I would love to see the mame logo on a coin.

Actually, very few of the chain arcades took quarters. It was much more financially benificial for them to take tokens.
Sure the machines in your local Pizza Hut or gas station took quarters, but the vast majority of larger arcades converted to tokens very early on.
