Cardboard Model?

Do any of you recommend building a cardboard model (maybe 1/3 scale?) of the cabinet you are going to build?  I thought this might help me understand how it would look when it was all finished.  It might take a few hours and if it's completely worthless I won't bother...

I dont know about the whole cab but a full size control panel in cardboard is always a good Idea.

I've made them (they're called maquettes) before for a coupla projects.  Not as big as 1/3 sized though.   Even just a foot or so tall would be enough for you to get a handle on how it'll look full sized.

Here's one I did.

Took notes right on the side of the maquette itself. :)

I've didn't do cardboard for the last one though.  Just a 3D model.  Don't have the model for that one online, but I do have one for the same cabinet pictured above after some revisions & modifications.

DougHillman:
Ha, what an idiot I am.  Fixed them.

What program did you use to make that 3d model?
