Where to get wire harness for Mini-Pac

Just wondering where to get the parts to make my own harness for the Mini-Pac. I have found a IDE cable that I was able to seprate each wire with but 3" of wire is kinda short. My other option is to find a female 40 pin plug and solder a wire to each pin.
Pic of IDE hack.

why not just solder wires onto the ends of those?

....or crimp em, if you're up for that....

Just find a longer IDE cable, cut one end off and separate the wires as you have done on that one.  Then crimp some quick disconnects onto the ends of each wire and away you go.

I had to do that recently on a friends minipac as the wiring harness that comes with the minipac is way too short for a large panel.  Most local computer shops should have old IDE cables laying around out the back which they may let you have.  I managed to find one which was about 40cm long and only had the connectors at each end and it worked out great.

Alternatively you could get a terminal block/strip, wire the IDE cable you have to one side and the button/stick wiring to the other side just like on an I-PAC.
