They would probably be worth it just for the turn table part.  I dont know if their buttons are arcade quality and should be replaced.

But a good start

now, I don't know if they would work with a ps ->  usb adapter....  Or if further hacks would be needed.

btw, are beatmanias any fun?  They look pretty good, but without the proper controls, I didn't try and get into them.

Yeah, they're quite fun, actually.  I still play them a bit even using just my keyboard for now.  When I tried a few months ago, the games were in "working" state, although there were some nasty sync issues with the notes.  About halfway through the song, you'd be hitting buttons significantly later than the audio cues.  It seems that they've fixed it up quite nicely, though.  I just decided to try again a few days ago, and it was much better.  So of course, that plants the idea of the Beatmania controller in my head...  ;D

Lilwolf:
search on ebay for beatmania controller...

there are a ton of the ps2 ones.  You can tell which where the good ones... some are getting multiple bids to take them to 70+... but some are starting at a buck and not getting a bid.

Industen:
Konami sells arcade controllers. They are quite expensive ($450) but feel just like the arcade.

There is also a cheaper version.

These are known for getting "sticky" keys after a while. There is a simple mod requiring you to shave the plastic off the buttons.

Both have an interchangable feature in case you ever bought 2 of them or would rather spin with you right hand.

Oh and there is also a Pop N Music ASC controller($450) out there in case anyone wants one.

I know what you mean about it being additive. I have all Beatmania IIDX's, almost all the DDR's, and I do have all the Pop N Music. God bless the Japanese.
