I've just ordered one of him, I should have it Monday or Tuesday.  ;D

It is a very heavy well made unit however, one should probably use this in addition to a regular weighted Tempest/Oscar style spinner and not instead of. I say this because it feels  *nothing* like a regular spinner. It is a paddle and has a very heavy feel to it when turning it. It is heavily bogged down because of several optimizing gears. Probably even more so then the original Arkanoid paddles. Don't get me wrong as it *is* a very clever and cool little two in one controller but if someones thinking that they can save room by using this to replace their standard spinner and 2-way joystick then they might be not be too thrilled with it. IMO its a great little paddle when used in addition to a regular spinner plus it has the added novelty of a horizontal 2-way "joystick"

How much did he charge? (unit cost/postage cost)

$50 for spinner, postage nothing as his company Zax Amusements sends to JM Amusements in Adelaide daily, we just have to pick it up there. If we wanted it posted home it would of been $16.50.

Zax Amusements web site is: http://www.zax.com.au/amusementmachines.html

I thought for $50 what have I got to lose?

Looking at it, I think it will be good for Arkanoid and Discs of Tron with the Up/Down feature, I doubt whether it would be any good for Tempest though.

I certainly don't intend using it as a 2 way joystick.

I don't understand what the 2-way movement would be for? Was it so you could move your paddle up and down??
