Resistors and Atari lit Cone Buttons
RayB:
I searched and couldn't find anything on hooking up Atari lit cone buttons to a J-PAC or I-PAC.
Ultimarc does not specify what kind of LED their own LED harness uses. His diagram DOES show that he uses a 220R resistor. But I can't compare properly without know what voltage the LEDs are...
I think Atari cone buttons use 2v lights. I remember at one point finding a site that explained how to figure out what resistors to use for various applications but I cannot find that web page.
Anyone have any URLs that help?

Maybe just hook it up to a 10K pot and measure the resistance when you got it to light up from a 5V power source?

Here's one:

A google of "led resistor calculator" turns up many more....

When you figure it out, could you post the answer here? I'm going to do it in the near future and I'd think many other people will eventually run into it.
(and I don't have the knowledge to do what was described above)

This has topic come up a number of times. Below are just a couple of threads about it. If you do a search for 'Atari' and 'LED' on these forums, you can find additional threads:
