From what I have learned, Nintendo VS (and Playchoice-10) monitors are standard-res. However, there is a difference between Nintendo and non-Nintendo monitors. It is that Nintendo uses negative logic video, whereas other manufacturers use positive logic video.
The solution is a color inverter. You need an inverter to convert the positive logic PC video to negative logic. This circuit at
http://www.arcadecollecting.com/info/Nintendo-color-invert.txt may work.
Since standard res monitors run at 15Khz, whereas PC at 31Khz, you will probably want to use DOS, and AdvanceMAME (advancemame.sourceforge.net). However, with a modified J-Pac, you may be able to run windows. Note: you will need to custom wire the board, since Nintendo boards are non-jamma.
I have a Nintendo Vs stand up (very huge) Dual monitor's.
Can these be set up on PC's? ( the monitors) This is a project that will be done after my other cabs are finished. But this question has been in my mind for a few months.
I think Nintend monitors used differant type monitors than any other arcade ( not sure ). I bought this Cab to restore and sell . Well after fixing her all up , I just cant sell it. after the Kids get tired of it. I really want to toss in some PC's and run Mame on each side. two 20" tv's would be very simple to toss in but the arcade monitors are MINT!! I could save some $$$$ if I used them. Can thay be used?
Mame VS Mame!!!!!
