Need help with light escaping out the sides of the marquee...

I'm basically at the "fix all the small stuff" part on my cabinet so I'm wondering how I could fix this particular lighting problem...

At the top of the cabinet I have my marquee.  It's attached using Happ's marquee retainer.  The artwork is sandwiched between two pieces of plexiglass (1/8").  Behind the artwork and plexiglass I have a 26" flourscent light (which barely fits).

Now everything works great except I have light escaping at the sides of the marquee.  I'm guessing that I ordered artwork which wasn't wide enough....

Any suggestions on how to fix this?  I've tried placing black construction paper INSIDE the cabinet (behind the plexiglass, in front of my light) but the light still gets through.  I've also tried putting the construction paper right behind my artwork (but in front of the back piece of plexiglass), but you can then SEE the construction paper and the artwork no longer looks right...

Can anybody help me?

Duct tape?

I'm serious.

Some sort of caulking might work.

Aluminium foil blocks light just fine...   ;D

If the plexiglass is a PERFECT fit, then you can tape off the areas that aren't big enough and spray paint black the tiny light-leaks.
Or, here's an idea I just thought of, Go to home depot and get the foam wetherstripping, and put it on the back of the back piece of plexiglass. Stick it on so it goes too far out to the sides, so when you install the marquee, it squishes the foam, making a perfect fit
