Thanks, I have a few more things to try too.
I'll try setting it to sb in the advmame cfg and also then in the emulation options.

I was too curious and gave it a quick go... It seams newer versions of the fe and advance mame don't like each other. I tried the latest advance mame with the latest version of the fe and no sound...then an earlier version of the fe and sound was ok.
That sucks because I can't easily trace why this happends because I can not test it anymore on my desktop machine...and it would cost me to much time to do it on the cab... Sorry...

Thanks for the effort Peter, it probably saves some of my hair from being torn out. I may still try to get it to work. BTW which version worked in your test, and could I get ahold of it?

it was a pre fps/skins version so probably not that useful to you. By the way why do you want to use advancemame under windows? If it is for accurate refresh rates that can be done in windows to now...

Yes, its for the accurate refresh rates and sizing, which Advancemame seemed rock solid. I'm pretty sure I can configure using custom sizes and -r for refresh rates in the cloptions folder for winmame, but it will probably take a lot of trial and error as I don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks again for all your support Peter, and I really like 3darcade.

Actually i found it easier the advance mame..just add the resolutions and refreshrate you want to the registry...worked wonderfully with my nvidia card... but then after doing that and I got all those special resolutions working I found out that in my cab having just one resolution but with different refreshrates using hardwarestreth for all games except vector games looked even more authentic ;)
