solution for my problem..
PixelCloud:
i'm inthe final stages of finishing my blue prints for my upright and i have came across a problem.
my control panel is basied off the lusid design but i need to develop some mention of "locking it down" when people are playing it..
the way i have it designed is that it is openable bcause there is a piano hindge on the front of the cp (it opens towards you) but when its closed there will be nothing sercuing it..
suggestions?

3rd row, center item: Control Panel Clamp
It's what real arcade machines use to hold their panels down with.
You can probably also get these from Bob Roberts (recommended), Happ, or whoever else you might be ordering stuff from.
Apollo:
You may find, as I did, that with a CP made from MDF or some other wood product that the weight of the CP keeps the lid down. Have you given it a test drive yet?

5/8" MDF with 1/8" lexan on top..
hasnt been built yet
those clamps look excellent but the top peice of mdh over hangs the box portion by a couple inches on each side..
will they still work?

you'll need access to the panel clamps from underneath to secure them...have you thought about somthing like cabinet closures or even velcro along the top edge?
