Slot cutter bit - Canada

I don't mean to go off topic but there seems to be a good number of Canadians here, why don't we start a new thread/topic. One that would list all Canadian suppliers/distributers of arcade parts, building materials, hardware, etc. in Canada. I paid about $670 to build my CP and almost $100 was shipping and duty fees.

I'm not knocking suppliers outside Canada, most are fantastic, but the Canadian dollar, duty and shipping is killing us here. Not only that but alot of posters here are wondering where do you get slot cutters, cheap tools, hardware, etc. I think if we could build a little database/thread with all the suppliers, distributers and manufacturers here it could save us and newbies alot of time searching for info. I know that we will still have to use outside suppliers for some things, but if we could find it in Canada then we could save a dollar or two.

Any thoughts on this, good idea or bad?

Hi there,

I had no problem at all getting the 1/16" slot cutter. KMS tools in Coquitlam, BC (www.kmstools.com) had 3 in stock, just drove over and picked it up. Windsor Plywood stores in BC will order any Freud router bit or cutter, no special charges.

The Freud part number is 56-100.
CMT part number is 822.316.11

CMT products are available from Island Saw & Tool www.islandsaw.com or Euro-tech Services BC 604-590-1478.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have problems located other items.

I think photorock is on to something here. I try and help out the guys I know by picking stuff up when I'm in Toronto, since I go to Starburst Coin on a pretty regular basis (now that I know where it is). I'm in the GTA a couple times a week on business and can usually stop to pick up stuff. Having a list of Canadian supplies for common hard-to-find stuff is a fantastic idea.
