runtime error 62
« on: August 02, 2004, 01:02:12 pm »
Hi !

i have a few problems with mamewah, so i hope i get some
solutions here. First of all i have this runtime error problem.
I use the search funktion on this board but this isnt the
same problem as i have here. Everytime i want to generate
a rom list in the mamewah i got those error:

"Run time error "62"
Input past file"

Even when i remove those *.fav files..
This is different from the problem reported in the past thread,
where a user had this error when he exit mamewah.
I use mameversion 0.83 with mamewah0.97

So is there a solution for my problem.

thx a lot
and sorry for my bad english..

btw. apart from my problems mamewah is
an superb Frontend ! Respect :-)

i used a wrong term, here...---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- i have to
do some english lessons, hmpf

I recall one instance were someone had to delete the CFG files (as well as FAV files).  Sorry, you'll need to re-configure, but I would suggest you delete the entire \files folder and start again...

Hi Minwah !

hmmm. i deinstalled everything and installed it to another
directory, just in case. But when i did a clean installation,
from the scratch, the same error occured again.

Does the error only occur when trying to generate a list?  If so, what List Generation Method are you using?

On a possibly related note, what Decimal Symbol do you use in Austria?  The reason I ask is MAMEWAH sometimes has a problem, if your decimal symbol is ',' (not '.').  I would suggest go into Control Panel > Regional Settings and switch it to '.' (if neccessary), just to make sure that isn't causing any problems.

sorry minwah for my late answer, but yesterday i got
too drunk to do any post  :P

My Regional settings are allready setup to display
the "." and the region settings are english/usa.
So this is not the problem...

Any further suggestions,

thx Zyx

Sorry that must be the reaction that alcohol done to me on next day.. :P

First I have selected the rom folder only option in mamewah and then i go to the
refresh gamelist. After selecting this mamewah crashes with this error message.

When i make a gamelist with the mamewahstetup utility i can create a gamelist
with rom folder only.
But i cant select the the romvsdatfile because the button is deactivted.

i just deleted my files folder again, because i
was not sure if the game list file there was
generated with the mamewah setup util.
When i make the list directly from mamewah,
i can generate one with the rom folder only
option. But when i go to the list generation option
and select the romvsdat file the programm crashs
with a runtime error 13 Type mismatch.
I dont know why i m getting another error message
then before. but this could be because i think i generated
the list with the mamewah setup util...

I get the same Error 13 now too when trying to refresh my DAT vs ROM.

Wierd thing was, it was fine until I upgraded my romset.

I have no idea what the problem is here :-\  - I suggest try my next version when it comes out, as it will have some new List Gen. Methods for MAME v0.84+

hey there,

i had the same problem today (runtime error 62 upon refreshing list) and fixed it by COMPLETELY deleting mamewah, mame, and mamewah setup, and reinstalling all 3. i created a dat file from instructions in another post that i used for the vs. dat file list option.
