ROR3 Devices Optical Gun Control and MAME?
jeditsp:
I just saw this the other day browsing the net about optical light guns for the PC.
http://www.r0r3.com/productsusbopticalgun.htm
It lets you interface Happ Optical Light guns with your pc via usb.
My question is if anyone has ever tried this product with MAME and gotten it to work? If so how well does it work? And will it work with say a WG92000, arcade monitor or happ controls vision pro, or standard pc monitor?

Ya i'll message him. I sent an email to the company but they haven't replied yet. Hopefully they say this will work with mame. If not maybe I could talk to the devs for mame about it and see what they have to say. I'm thinking if the emulation is correct for gun games in mame then this product should have no problem. But i guess taht also depends on how they wrote the drivers for the device. According to the specs the accuracy is less than 1 pixel which is very very nice. Considering most people use 800x600 for mame emulation this product should work nicely. I would really love to be able to use an authentic arcade gun for my cabinet even if it would cost significantly more. The colt45 for area51 feels so nice in my hand. :)

I says at 640x480. It wouldn;t be hard for just gun games to set the resolution to 640x480 anyway....
