-fast_startup_frames patch released for MAME
Tiger-Heli:
At my suggestion, Alan Kamrowski II has added -fast_startup_frames to his mame patches. The file is available here: http://home.earthlink.net/~alank2/mame/custommame.htm
What this does is untoggle speed throttling for a certain number of frames and then toggle it back on.
NOTE: This is similar but slower than the -ssf option which also eliminates the video rendering for the startup frames.
NOTE2: You cannot run -ssf and -fsf at the same time.
NOTE3: A useful way to set this up is to run -ssf first to see when the startup frames end, and then run -fsf with this value afterwards.
This option will mainly be used in 2 circumstances:
1) Arcade purists who enjoy watching the startup frames but don't want to wait extra time for the games to load.
2) On slow PC's or for games with long startup sequences (Cruisin' USA, DECO Cassete), it might be preferable to run -fsf over -ssf even though it's slower, just so you can verify that something is happening.
Hopefully this will be added into NoNameMAME if it gets resurrected.
P.S. Cross-posting this to mameworld news forum.

We'll see. There is a ton of work left to do to get it working again. I do have a growing to-do list and a ton of sourcecode from all over the place though. Maybe after the next Analog+ release (that is what most of the broken stuff is).
