Another freebie, ideas anyone?

I didn't have much choice in the matter really. The guy wanted to keep the Time Soldiers marquee and bezel and the rotary sticks, and there was no PCB or wiring.

Or maybe not. ;)

That's PERFECT!
Quote from his site,
"I did NOT, however, want to harm the original cabinet. I realized fairly
quickly, though, that all of my MAME-based prosthetics for the machine
could be designed to mate with the original machine without so much
as drilling a hole in it."
he didn't alter the cab permanently at all..(unlike that dork who lopped
off the CP outcropping on that dig dug last year..man, I coulda' lopped off
something of his...)

I still say mame a snk rotatary mame machine.
Did he want the marquee and bezel for another project? or to sell? Ask for the marquee and make some high quality scans. And for now, see about some low quality color prints for the marquee. I don't know about the bezel, but might not be a bad way to go initially.
then get a few joysticks. They are up on ebay all the time.
Then use analog+ mame or noname mame and hook them each up. This is the hard part... you will need 12+4 connections per joystick, not including the buttons. But go this way... it plays SO much better.
Then you will have timesoldiers and about 1/2 of the other rotary games. What you will miss thought is the ikari series (I know real pain) but analog+ mame has a bug in the ikari games that looses the direction after spinning it... One out of order I believe. I keep meaning to take a look at it...
And if you get it working well.. .hopefully your friend will come back and give you the original marquee and bezel seeing what a cool, specialized mame cab you have :)

Not going the rotary route, at least not with this one. I started stripping the black paint today, will post pictures soon.

Have they ever fixed that glitch with Ikari Warriors? I am trying to figure out the best configuration for the rotary joysticks I wanted to install.
