| Will photopaper stick/smudge to Plexi? |
| (1/1) |
| RayB:
I see alot of people put clear plexi on their CPs, so I was thinking, there's no point then in having it professionally printed on vinyl... My question: Has anyone tried just printing it with an inkjet on photo-paper and then laying the clear plexi on top? If I do this, will the ink/paper end up sticking to the plexi, and bleeding or anything like that? (In other words, is it a bad idea?) |

Stick - yes Smudge -no I printed out some pictures and put them in cheap frames with plexi instead of glass. I never had any problems until I tried to update the pictures. The pictures tended to stick to the plastic and a couple of the pictures were damaged. The plastic cleaned up fine. |

I printed my CPO on self-adhesive paper and covered it with lexan, I also used the overlay as a cutting template (no measuring required) If you want to make your prints "spill resistant" you could spray them with a automotive clear coat. It saves a bundle on printing if you are building on a shoe string budget. ($1 per square foot vs Kinko's $10 per square foot) Not the route to take if you are a maticulous perfectionist though, I've been flamed about this method because it leaves "seems" Dig it? Craig |
