T-Stick users, how did you mount it?

crashwg:
I'm almost ready to mount my t-stick and I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do it.

I was considering using t-nuts on the top surface of the cp, but with plans of putting just an overlay "sticker" and no plexi or anything I would think that you'd have divots where the t-nuts are...

I just screwed mine to the bottom of the CP.

That worked for me with the bat tops, and the long balltops.
The long balltops may come out a bit short for most people, with no routing.

The short balltops are too short to bottom mount.

I've got tstick pluses, top mounted on 5/8 particle board.

I *was* going to use T-nuts, and then forgot to put them in before putting the top laminate on the CP (/sob).

So I routed out about 1/4 inch of my panel (1/2" particleboard with 1/4" Pergo floor laminate on top) and just screwed them into the particleboard.  I don't reef on the sticks too hard, but I haven't been excessively gentle either, and they have been holding up just fine.  Used pretty fat #10 screws, as I recall.

Doing it over--I'd do the T-nuts.  If you're really concerned about the finish, you may consider a tiny bit of putty to smooth it over.

Bottom mount with carriage bolts.  Routed 1/4" for T-Stick Plus' and 1/2" for T-Sticks to get them the same height.
