| Would putting a microswitch joystick into a classic decrease the value? |
| << < (2/2) |
| RayB:
Depends on the game... My Galaga had a microswitch 8-way (weird!). I bought a restrictor plate to make it 2-way. Well, finally I got a fair deal on an original Galaga 2-way on Ebay, so now I have a used original 2-way in there and am very happy about it. (Feel's just right!) |

Depends on who you are selling it to. Most people won't even realize it clicks or won't remember if the classic clicked. If you are taking it to a Super Auction it won't matter anyway as it is too loud for anyone to hear it ;) |
| RayB:
What may matter more is the STYLE of stick. For example, most classics should have the red-ball style, not a happ tear drop or other weird stick. I think I'd notice that much sooner than noticing if it's microswitch. |
| DarkKobold:
The real question is, how are you selling it? If it is ebay, then RayB is right. No one can tell a microswitch joystick from a leaf joystick in a picture. If you are selling it on a personal basis, than whoever buys it will most likely want to play the game well, which means microswitch, as oppose to old ass crap. If you are selling to the loveable nuts on RGVAC or KLOV, then you would be burned at the stake, then dragged through the streets by brad pitt on a chariot if you replaced the joystick. |
| AlanS17:
Well I have the option to either sell the machine online or at a Super Auction. I can buy either a replacement CP with used parts or buy a new Happs red ball-top replacement joystick. |
