Well he's been offering these things for weeks now. I've actually been following them. The price never goes above original bid. His shipping price seems a bit high to me, but even still, that's still less than $200 for a 27" VGA monitor.

I'm no genius, but I know the basics of electronics. I'm confident I could fix any (electronic) problem I may come up with. He has a ton of those things in stock, though, and nobody has come back with major complaints in his feedback section. Maybe I'm an optimist. But he sells maybe one per week. And about once a week (or two) he gets a good feedback for a monitor that was bought from him. The only thing I would be worried about is packing. Something of that size seems like it would be awfully easy to break...

I'll be buying my cabinet this week so that's when I'll decide if I want one or not. Who knows... it may not even fit in the cabinet I get!

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING ANY??? >:(

they are very old and taken out of some bowling alley..he sent me 2 and both broke...no idea what was wrong with them..but shiping is fairlly high..because his monitors will break for no reason and he would blame on shiping..ever heard this..

"i know it works but after it leaves my place i am not resposible"

the guy is kinda of a crook from what i know..not the  ebay seller scott..actual guy who has the monitors is jimrainbow...if anyone risking any monitor from him...

BEWARE...you will regret...pcbs are very poorly soldered and tons of others problem..it worked for couple of days for me though.then breaks...total waste of money if anyone willing to risk it..even if you do..make sure you use credit card..the guy will try every other way besides credit card..dont pay by anything else..so if your monitor aint working then you can sue him to get money back :)

so if i were to buy any of these,i take my advise...PAY WITH CREDIT CARD...but best is not to bother...unless you can go pick up after looking at it and make sure it works..because after my second one arrives broken,he sents me email

"you did not use surge protecter or you cant use a monitor and lots of others stories".

Are you saying it's more likely to be a bad unit than a good unit? Or or you saying that's there's a small chance of a broken unit? In other words, what do you think my odds are of getting a good unit? Did you get money back??? I've never bought through ebay before.

For that price it's almost worth gambling...
That really is a good price...

LOOK MAN HERE IS THE DEAL>>>

dont buy it...you will regret every day for the rest of your life..

it dont make any difference how the seller is...seller is very very honest..i know the guy..SCOTT...but the problem is he dont have the monitor himself..he is just putting up for auction..i used to do the same but "jimrainbow" is the actual owner of the monitors and i got my ebay account canceled because of too many bad feedback..now i only put up for auction but myself i did not have the monitors.so customers got broken monitors and got were very pissed at me thinking i screwed them...they are not my monitors..even if you can exchange, still bad deal..because to ship it..it will cost you around $100..because the tube has very heavy weird metal casing..so shiping would be a lot....DONT RISK IT>>I REPEAT  dont do it..

How about this source?

http://www.closeouts-usa.com/ey27coltvmon.html

Is anybody familiar with these people???

I priced a monito5 directly from Wells Gardner and it came out to like about $550. That's more than I want to pay for a monitor (granted it is probably the nicest that money can buy).

Anybody now a better source for a 25" or 27" VGA monitor??

thats the same people holding the ebay auction. I got one from there but the difference is I drove to New York (from delaware) to see it work and to ensure proper delivery.

Well that website says the monitors are in working order. Are they just lying?

I was soooo tempted to buy, even though I have no use for one...  (my 25' fits perfectly in my cabinet)...  Although I live near the guy and could skip on the shipping.

Sounds like a egg bad deal from what you guys are saying.

Like m'momma always said...  If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

Does anybody live close enough to go check one out for me to make sure it's good before they ship???  ;D

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE

I really want one but now I'm afraid. I live in south Texas so I could never just go pick one up. I wish there was an honest person nearby to verify a good working system for me.

Are they really that heavy that shipping is a problem???

me again...DONT bother.it will break you will cry :'( and do just like your avater picture :)

ya know the pic where you are trying to kill yourself.

its way too heavier then it might sound..like i said..uses weird metal caging of some sort.so again..DONT RISK IT.

its about 140lbs boxed and nothing to protect the back of the tube where the PCB is.usually monitors have generic metal open frame style casing which protects the pcb but this monitor has noting.so little touch in the tube where pcb is mounted and it will stop working.either loose solder or short out everything..

I bought this monitor about a month ago, and so far it works fine.  I drove up to the guy's store, about 45 minutes away, and he actually has 'tested' models there.  He gauranteed they would work, and he includes a power cable with them.  Difference is in price, $175 tested, $60 untested.  I decided to try and avoid hassle and forked over for the tested.  The unit does work pretty flawlessly for me.  The units are about 25" wide, 19" high, and 14" deep.  There are some frame mounts which stick out a couple inches on each side, widening it slightly.  The weight is supposedly 71 lbs.  It came with a box, but I had to take it out of the box to fit it in my car.  I actually was on a sprained ankle (basketball) and the guy, Jim Rainbow, carried it to the car, unpacked it, and helped me load it in.  He was very nice, and took credit card on site.  That is just my experience.  I'll be happy to answer any other questions.  I just started gettign pieces for my cab, and am about to begin construction.

see thats the problem...either you are very lucky or not lucky at all..he sent me 2 and both broke...who knows..the monitors dont like my house or somethin >:(

its cool if you go pick up..because shiping is the hassle...all the shiping companies would either break it or who know how they handle things.

I ay if you can pick it up  then its not a bad idea, if you have to have it shipped then its more iffy. I got mine months ago and it works peachy and hasnt given me any problems, of course I havent used it more then 3 hours at a time so beyond that I dont kno wwhat to say.

Only problem driving from Delware to there was like 80 bux in tolls roundtrip

I was in the store, its not a pile of untested and tested, its justa  stacks of monitors, with lie 4 off to the side, the guy said when he sells a tested one, he opens and untested one and tests it, if it work fine, its put into the tested lot.

I didnt get mone from the actual "jim rainbow" but a guy who worked for him and I dunno if he was allowed to let me see it work first, but he did. And you dont need a laptop, they had a PC hooked up in the place.
