--- Quote from: maraxle on June 22, 2004, 08:02:05 am ---19 inch monitors were used in most, if not all, classic upright cabinets.  I have a 20" in my cabinet, and it looks great.  Remember, you're standing about 2 feet away from the thing, so it doesn't have to be huge.

I agree.  Bigger is better, if you can get a 27" in there I would go for it, but if the price of it makes it not feasible, I wouldn't beat myself up over a 19".   Maraxle is correct, in the early 80's most of the classics had 19-21" monitors, so you aren't that bad.  What I said earlier though about rotating it is still a strong suggestion so that both horizontal and vertical games will look OK.

definately bigger..........

but if you must - you could do your cab so monitor size can be upgraded in future. mine is 25" tv but has space for a 33" and it looks fine - always think ahead.

Sam's Club has a 27" for $150, and if you can't fork out the cash straightaway, go to Wal-Mart and pick up the cheapest 27" and put it on "The poor man's credit card", layaway.  I think Wal-Mart's cheapest 27" is around $180 near me, but yours may have one cheaper.

And, for the record, I've got both a 19" that I was going to use, as it's useless for anything other than an arcade cab, and a 27"......I hooked 'em both up to see if it would make that big a difference.....the 19" will look like @$$ compared to the bigger one.  Save the money, don't use the smaller one just because you have it on hand.  You WILL regret it.
