personal tv dilemma, need help
the3eyedblindman:
when i first began my project i was going to use a 27 inch tv, seeing that thats what most people use, but i aquired a 19 inch tv for free, i am going to use that now, but i feel id be missing out, or its too small, is 19 inch ok? too small? i need opinions, i know 27 inch would be better, but this saves me about 200 bucks, need replies! Anyone have any links to people who have used 19 inch tvs in upright cabinets so i can see how it looks, please reply, is 19 inch too small?
REBIRTH:
19 won't be too bad for whatever orientation you have it in, but very small for the other - unless you rotate. What I mean is, if you have the TV in there fixed in it's "normal" position, it will be OK for horizontal games (think Defender) but be very small for vertical games (think Pac-Man). If you lay it on it's side then the opposite would be true (ok for Pac-man, small for Defender).
Check out my website or others that rotate their monitor, if you are sticking with a 19" I would suggest you think of rotating it so that it is OK for both Horizontal and Vertical games.

Do it right the 1st time and put in the 27" You'll regret it if you dont.
I had a 21" monitor, and it didnt look right in my full side cab. So I added the 27" instead, and havent looked back.

You gotta have the full size mate.
My cab is practically finished except for the screen.
I'm holding out for a reasonably priced huge tv.

19 inch monitors were used in most, if not all, classic upright cabinets. I have a 20" in my cabinet, and it looks great. Remember, you're standing about 2 feet away from the thing, so it doesn't have to be huge.
