--- Quote ---I heard the new Metal Slug 5 is pretty decent. --- End quote --- I'm pretty sure that Metal Slug 5 is PGM, not MVS if you thought MVS was expensive wait till you see the crazy prices for PGM stuff, very similar system, just more modern. Some of the games are pretty darn good tho! More info on the PGM system here http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=8174 |

It's close enough (the biggest difference that you'd have to keep in mind is that MVS doesn't use -5V while JAMMA does). --- Quote from: SirPoonga on June 19, 2004, 09:42:41 pm ---Note, these things go for some big bucks some times, especially the 4slot system. They are a big collectors item. And they are still being used today. I heard the new Metal Slug 5 is pretty decent. --- End quote --- I have a 4-slot MVS "board" sitting around and I constantly teeter between whether or not I should keep it or sell it. --- End quote --- Wow, I'd like one of those :) |

--- Quote from: SirPoonga on June 20, 2004, 11:35:34 pm ---Wow, I'd like one of those :) --- End quote --- I got it from a friend of a friend who was moving and needed to get rid of it. It was housed in a generic cabinet that had a blown monitor, and I got the whole shebang (cabinet (with coin door), MVS 4-slot system, controls) for $100. Go me! ;) It's a quandry for me because it's barely worth it for me to have it hooked up since I can play all of the MVS carts that I own on my MAME cabinet. And it's not exactly very economical from a gaming standpoint to keep buying more carts for the same reason. But it's one of those things that I know I'd regret selling if I ever did. Ah well... :) |
