I have seen alot of flight/ pc joysticks on control panels. Whenever I look at them at like comp usa, they always have buttons on the bases that are probably needed during gameplay, but those would be covered by the control panel, how do you come about getting a flight stick on your control panel, or a pc joystick, whatever, and can you buy those anywhere that are specifiacally for arcades, like happ joysticks?

First decide whether you want this as a digital stick with trigger (Tron, Zaxxon, Gorf, Xenophobe, etc.) or an analog stick (Afterburner, Space Harriers, Paperboy, Star Wars, etc.) that could also be used for digital games.

For Option 1, you could just mount the handle to a Happ (Super, Competition) base.

For Option 2, you could mount the entire stick to the panel like Doc - did near the bottom here - http://www.beersmith.com/mame/panels.htm

In either case, buttons on the bottom (or even the circuits for the thumb and trigger buttons) don't matter b/c you would typically ignore these and wire the trigger and thumb buttons to you encoder and use arcade buttons on the panel for other in-game buttons.

How would you go about mounting the handle to a happ super competition base?
