Golden Tee in a Mame cab?
(1/3) > >>
Bear Hugger:
I have a Golden Tee 97 PCB and want a switchable GTG/Mame solution for my cab, can it be done? Yea I know theres a PC version of GTG but its not the same, and I want the real deal. If I have a PC, TV, and control panel connected to an I-Pac can I do this or do I need something else to use my PCB?
JoyMonkey:
You could use a KVM/data switch to switch bewteen the two, one like this would do the job. I've used a similar switch to switch between a Mame PC and arcade PCB, but that was using an arcade monitor. You'll need some expensive hardware to get the GoldenTee PCB to display on a TV, I can't remember what they're called right now...

Edit: The hardware you'd need to display GoldenTee on a regular TV is the JROK. I've tried contacting JRok a few times, but have never gotten a response. So I don't know what they cost, but I hear they work great.

Well, the ideal solution would be to get a jpac, arcadevga, and an arcade monitor.  Then it is simple plug and play, other than switching the tball over.  Of course a mouse hack molex plug can solve that :)

yeah,a  signal converter for video signals can be expensive.  It might be just worth while to sell the ipac and tv, go with the above suggestion, and modify your cab accordingly.  You will get a better picture (there is signal loss during conversions) and it would cost about just as much.  And it would be done right :)
JoyMonkey:
JROK video encoders are $75 plus shipping.

Those JROKs look pretty simple (but I'm not expert). What would make them so expensive?
