are we allowed to do this???

Large number of posts does not = large contribution. Believe me, I've been around the BYOAC for a number of years now (under different handles), and this is true more often than it isn't. If you watch closely, you'll see that the people that post infrequently typically give better and more accurate information than the ones with 100, 200, 300 posts behind their name.
Good examples of some people I have learned the most from are Tom61, Oscar, JustMichael, and a few others over the years. And you'll also see that they are not the ones that feel compelled to reply to every post.
Occasionally a newbie comes along and will rack up 100+ posts in a month or two and it kinda upsets the flow of the board, as well as some of it's long time members. This is not unusual, but a few corrective posts like PJ's will sometimes bring the newbie into check and then they will become a more productive member, and sometimes not. It's up to them.
Anyone remember when HowardC first came onboard some time ago? Now Howard is among one of the more respected members of the BYOAC, and I value his opinion on some topics more than anyone else's.
My $.02 on that.

Me, respect?? Nah, you must be thinking of someone else, no one respects me. ;)
I also want you guys to remember the h8ll you gave me before I started taking your criticism to heart. Although some of us have been hard on snaake I think it's necessary sometimes. The only way to stop mis-information is to correct it as it comes in. You'll notice that I indescriminately shoot down ideas from anyone. This isn't to be mean or an a$$hole but when falsehoods are repeatd enough they are taken as fact, and that's a very bad thing for this hobby.
Anyway I'm getting off topic here. Snake it was good for you to ask instead of just posting, but I think your a bit confused as to the nature of this baord.
We only post hardware pretaining to projects that involve arcade controls. We only post software that is pretaining to arcade control interfaces, emulators, and front-ends. The only reason we frown upon highly off-topic posts is because there are plenty of good places elsewhere on the net at which such posts would be beter appreciated while here they may not even get a second thought.
It's the same reason why people don't post pics of cars here. Nobody cares about their car, it may be a prefectly nice car, but this is an arcade controls message board and thus people don't want to see cars on this board.(at least the majority won't)

Hey, I think we all need to chill out a bit!!!
The whole point of this board is to exchange information and Snaaake is one of the main contributors these days.
He gets a lot of hassle when be posts something that may be illegal/unethical or whatever, but he doesn't get any credit when he posts useful information.
