Okay I want a 4 person, 6 button with a trackball set-up. We're a little worried about soldering, whats the other solution? I've seen things you can buy around $100ish, what does that involve? If there is a solution under $200 that will save me time I am all for it, any suggestions?

Using an Ipac4 and female quick disconnects you shouldn't need to solder unless you plan on doing keyboard or mouse hacks.

I like the Hagstrom Electronics keyboard encoders (KE72 and KE72-T). I like how it allows you to reconfigure the encoder via simple input file. I have multiple BAT files (one for each of the emulators I have on my cab) and by simply executing a BAT file, I can reconfigure the KE72 on the fly thus remapping my entire control panel to that emulator's default configuration mappings.

You can do that with an IPAC using the WinIPAC software too...
