| Help with Minipac programming! |
| (1/1) |
| timsatari:
Hi all Not having much luck here - Andy's been trying to help but thought I'd ask around to see if anyone else has had probs. Basically, my setup is as follows: - Jpac USB (players 1 & 2 / 6 buttons each) - Minipac - USB (players 3 & 4 / 3 buttons each) - Win XP - Arcadevga All great components, and to date I've been happily playing games in two player modes. It's now that I've been trying to get my other 2 players up and running that I'm struggling to get it going! Using Winipac and every conceivable mode available, every time I try to program the minipac it comes goes to reset and then states 'Failed - reconnect ipac'. Has anyone seen this / got around it? A few points to make: - Win XP recognises all components as USB Human interface devices - Settings on minipac are confirmed as Alt / USB I've even tried attaching the minipac to my pc (ie non mane) to program it away from any possible conflicts with the same results... Any help appreciated! tim |

You're probably using the wrong software to configure the minipac. Unfortunately, you can't use the software on the CD shipped to you (that's for a regular IPAC). Try this instead: http://www.andywarne.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/WinIPAC_Setup.zip |

Try what drunkatuw suggests first. If that doesn't work then you may have a more serious problem. On mine, I tried everything and it still didn't work. I was using Windows XP Media Center Edition with a ton of 3rd party apps installed. I wiped the machine, installed XP Home Edition and the MiniPac programmed fine. Don't know what the issue was (software, registry issues, etc) |

I programmed mine with the old WinIPAC software as if it were an I-PAC2 and it uploaded just fine. But then I was using Win98SE and PS2 rather than USB. |
