I like D&D. I haven't gotten to play in a year or so, though, as it's too time consuming and tough to get everyone together regularly. It may be dorky, but it's an excuse to sit around, drink beer, eat pizza, and socialize with my friends.
I do have to say that I think it's funny to see someone who writes emulator front ends for fun saying that playing D&D is dorky. A case of the pot calling the kettle black, I'd say. :P

I tend to get friends together and watch sports, or talk about women, or play poker, or go to a club, or play golf, or something REAL. Not to all pretend we're mythical creatures using our magical imaginary hit points to fight dragons. But that's just me..
I NEVER Liked D&D.. I guess it's a personal choice tho.. *shrug*

The ONLY D&D I liked was on the Intellivision. Advanced d&d. Fun game. I could not stand those pen and paper games. Or the old text only games for early computers. I don't have the mind for games like that. I grew up on TV. :P

Well, we do all that stuff too. Except the clubs - most of my friends are married or close to it. Anyway, how is playing an RPG worse than playing a video game? Same premise, just a different medium. I understand that it requires a certain amount of imagination and creativity, so it's not for everyone...

I have never once played D&D. Only disturbed indivduals who belong to cults and kill people play that game. It's satanic!
