Good Pinball Sites?
« on: April 30, 2004, 06:40:36 pm »
I just got my first pin last night, High Speed by Williams.  Of course it needs work, and I don't know the first thing about pinball.  Do any of you have a great informative site I should look at?  I need something for the newbie with troubleshooting advice.  As far as I can tell all the boards are working, I just need help with the mechanics of the game.
thanks

The pinball repair guides at marvin3m.com are an excellent start (for free). Then go to www.marcospec.com and order this excellent electronic pinball repair books for beginners:

"Pinball Machine Care & Maintenance" Marco # PMCM for $24.95

While you're there at Marco you can dowload their online catalog or request a printed catalog. They stock lots of pinball parts at reasonable prices.

The site that Ken mentioned is a good place to start. If you don't have a manual for your game I would suggest getting one. The schematics are invalualble. If you're close by I'm always happy to help.

I am located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The book you mentioned sounds like a good beginning point.  I'll check it out.

ALWAYS, always, ALWAYS phone in your orders to MARKO. They are notorious for ignoring emails.

That is the site you want to look at.
If you have questions, ask in rec.games.pinball, they are a friendly and helpful bunch.
Welcome to pin collection, I play my Twilight Zone way more than I do my MAME cabinet.  Fixing up the machines is half the fun.

For parts, look at pinball resource. http://www.pbresource.com/  Phoning them is your best option, since e-mail is sporatic.
