Correct.  The image can be displayed by either skipping some lines, or by interlacing, but either way it looks a lot better on the right monitor.

Here's a list of horizontal games with a y resolution over 300:

can you display some of these games on std res monitor using ArcadeVGA by enabling interlacing?

Have you seen the list of games that fit in the opposite category? (holy moly!) ;D

Absolutely.  All of these games will play fine with the ArcadeVGA in interlaced mode.  The flaw is that it's interlaced which isn't perfect (because of the slight flicker to the screen) compared to using the proper monitor.
