Lilwolf:

btw, I bought two sets from big lots (really) for about 1.50 each for a set of like 8 sizes (but I've only used 2 or 3).  They are bit based (put in a screwdriver)..

but very happy with the purchase and use them often.

My Home Depot didn't have them, infact the so-called 'experts' there didn't even know what I was talking about.  I tried a local mom and pop hardware store, and they knew exactly what I wanted and showed me where they were.  I've found that for odd things like this, the smaller hardware stores are a safer bet over Home Depot and Lowes...

Lilwolf:

Home Depot and Lowes sells what they can sell a lot of...

they don't cover local items (extra items used for what was used when they built all the buildings in your area... like brass screws for old door knobs that where popular at the time the area neighborhoods where built).

BUT... they are good for what they have..

and I still havent' found much good advice there... I've only find people who know where their products are stored.

fredster:

They are for security bolts.  Bob Roberts sells them.  He has the whole set for about $7.00.

You can find them around at flea markets and such.

jerryjanis:

I got my set at The Real Bob Roberts.  "Security Torx" is one name I've heard used to identify them.
