I need button vendors
« on: July 22, 2002, 12:11:05 am »
Hey everybody!  I happened along this site a few days ago and i was struck in awe of such a cool idea.  i have been searching for an excuse to buy an arcade game to play at home and now i have one.  this is by far one of the most expansive websites that i have found, and all of it totally useful!

anyways i bought a cabnet for 35 bucks (will post work in progress pics later)  and i am looking for a place to buy good buttons.. how about glow in the dark? or translucent?  all around the website there are clues to vendors but no links..  any hints?

No happs controls is definately not the place unless it's your last resort.  They have a lot of nice products but are always overpriced.  Try bob roberts and videoconnect.com first and if you can't find what you need then get it from happs.

Btw the only way you can get translucent buttons is to use leaf style buttons which you can get at videoconnect.com.

p.s. their site is crap, call em and save yourself some hassle.

Not always.  ;)  Their horizontal microswitch buttons are currently on sale for 99 cents, plus an additional 2% off all online orders.  (The ultimate joysticks are on sale, very cheap, too, but don't buy them.)

Of course, if it's not on sale it's higher priced than other places.  And often even the sale items are still more expensive.   So unless you are going to buy 26 buttons (to meet there $25 minimum),  it is usually cheaper to buy elsewhere like Howard says.

However, I like checking out happs first for product information; they have better-then-most on-line info on their products.  Then I know which products #s to look for and which to avoid when I buy elsewhere.

Huh??  I have to ask the question, "Are you blind??"
I don't mean to be rude but the menu for the ArcadeControls.com site has one entry that says Links.  When you click it, you will find links to various vendors.
