Magnetism - Subwoofers / Hard drives

While I know that computer speakers are magnetically shielded, how about subs?

I plan on using a sub in my cab, but don't want to fry a hard drive.

As an option, I'm thinking that a piece of MDF inserted between my mini-tower and my sub might do the trick.

Thoughts..............?

The magnatism is not the only thing that will mess a hard drive up, get a sub going pretty loud within a foot of a hard drive operating and you will fry the bearings quicker than the magnatism will destroy the data.

The noise Vibration might be worse than the magnatism.

I'm planning to isolate the mini-tower using some sort of vibration dampener. (foam or springs)

Get some sheet metal to attach to that mdf that you are laying in there.  That will help ensure no magentic forces can get to your HD

Oldskool:

Really? Sheet metal?

How about rubber or another non-magnetizable material ?
