Starburst Auction in Toronto this Saturday

menace:

First few (like 5 or so) are usually fairly crappy and get about 25$ depending on whether they are working.  This time of year there could be as many as 150 people there or half that amount--its pretty hit or miss.  Its fun to kick tires (or cabs in this case) and you might get lucky.  95% of the cabs are typically working with a conversion game of sorts inside--dedicated originals are rare.  The last few have had lots of pins so if thats another interest its a great place to get one.

Grauwulf:

I would love to go, especially for the pins, but I'm going to miss this one becasue of work training I can't get out of.

I guess I'll catch the next one.

FYI:

As I learned at the last auction... you need over $1000 to purchase a nice pin.  As there's LOTS of dealers at these auctions looking to get a pin to flip it on ebay.

Crap, I'd love to go but.....duty calls.

I believe Starburst sells Happ stuff, so its a great opportunity for local guys to buy without the exchange rate / duty / shipping probs.

Anyone want to pick me up a marquee retainer?  ;D

I already have a nice pin in my gameroom, I'd be looking for parts or older machines to restore. But right now I'm hunting for stuff to do my mame cabinet anyhow. :)
