Tron Push/Pull Spinner Question
NoOne=NBA=:
Zwackery also uses the up/down function.
In answer to the original question though, it depends on how you look at it.
The spinner moves freely up/down, and has a spring-assisted middle position.
When not being pulled up, or pushed down, the spinner sits in the middle position.
When pulled up, or pushed down, it TRAVELS freely, but doesn't DO anything until it hits a leaf switch, so there are really only 3 FUNCTIONAL positions (all the way up/all the way down/somewhere in the middle).
Unless you really HAVE to have the up/down function, you might consider stepping down to one of Oscar's other models to save money.
His spinners are much better quality than anything you could build for the same price.
(Assuming you don't run your own machine shop, and have access to discount bearings and such).

Hee hee, if you pony up the hunnerd bucks for the DOT spinner, trust me, you'll get to level 7. How else could you justify it? ;D
