FYI: SS Handles price increase
SkateDetroit:
It is all a matter of preference and opinion. Aesthetically I personally prefer the classic look of the red ball joysticks. Shiny bling bling platinum chrome plated joysticks that keep spinning every time I stop just wouldn't look right on my vertical cab 8)
The handles are metal to begin with ;D

The point is that you can make those Wico joysticks look cooler with some metal handles.

Playing games with a metal handled joystick does not even appeal to me at all, i don't care how cool it looks. lol. Sorry. I'm with the majority on this one i think, being that the older wicos and red or colored ball tops just add that certain something. I guess it all depends on what your going for in the looks area. Looks wise, the metal does definately stand out, but grabbing a nice cold metal handle just doesn't sound to inviting, especially when it gets pretty cold in my game room sometimes.
Just my 2 cents :)

I usually like SS stuff and they look OK but personally I don't like them. They don't look authentic and they also appear top-heavy to me.
I know the SS price has risen or whatever, but I don't think many will sell @ $45...

OK, I have to admit, I'm not a really big fan of these handles (too big and too heavy), but I bought a bunch of wico 8-way bases on ebay and I needed some handles to go with them. Besides I really do think they look kinda cool. For an example See OldSkools CP thread
I don't live in a rabbit hole, so the cold won't be a problem for me *lol* ;D
Oldskool:
The handles are nice, but I do find them to be a bit long.
While they are great for Robotron, in Defender they suck. Trying to hit the reverse button with your thumb is a challenge. Using the shorter Wico ball top is advantageous in some games.
I still don't regret buying the SS handles. They're not cold (as some may think) and the springs that come with my P360s are beefy. I really don't find the handles to be "top heavy".
The SS handles are pretty, and let's face it, cosmetics do count to some. If you're putting in all of this time and effort, why not spring a few extra $$$. (Note, I was lucky enough to buy before the increase, and would reconsider if the prices were jacked....)
