Routers kick up a substantial amount of saw dust. MDF dust may cause sino-nasal cancer and the formaldehyde released when you cut MDF can cause irritation of the eyes, nose and throat. When I route MDF, I use goggles, a mask and tissue in my ears. Maybe this old news, but I was disappointed to discover last week that my local Home Depot will no longer cut MDF, because of the health liability. |
