Act labs TV light gun ?'s |

osiris:
fist I appoligise for this being kinda a wide topic but I've been getting alot of requests for a light gun on my cab. I have a tv in my cab so that pretty much means I'll be using a act labs lightgun. Im just wondering if these require the recalibration for each game like the pc ones did. I saw something on their site about one time calibration, but i could be mistaken, or it could be tricky marketing. Second, Is the two player support on these very good, or still iffy like with other guns? Third, does anyone have picks of the internals for these buggers? Would it be possible to hack this gun into another case? the ray gun look IMO is fugly, and Id be willing to purchase "real" light guns for their cases alone if i knew that i could make the internals fit. Thanks for any advice or thoughts on these things, and feel free to make a comment on something i might not be considering here. |

First, from what I know, the TV guns don't require calibration as there is no change in resolution or refresh rate ever. Second, I understand that two player support is better as it's built into the gun and official MAME. (I believe the two player gun works as a single four button mouse) Third, I heard of several people wanting to hack the gun internal into another case, but I haven't heard if any of them were successful in their attempt(s). This kind of hack could be very problematic as you'd need to get the focal length and alignment just right or the gun won't work well. |
