VGA out to CGA monitor?
« on: July 14, 2002, 12:13:34 am »
Since a CGA monitor has the same specs as a standard monitor, would it be possible to use Mame -NTSC with a CGA monitor?

It is possible.  CGA monitors run a 15khz...but have digital inputs.  You have to hack the monitor board and make a connector to the analog pins just after the digital conversion circuit.

Here is a page that details how to make the hack (this is for a specific cga monitor, but the chipsets are pretty much the same on all).
