Compile MAME32.60 without loading screen
James:
Just compiled mame32.60 and removed the 'OK' screens. Does anyone know what to change in the souce code to remove the loading status bars that open before launching each game? any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
James
Lilwolf:
btw, why mame32? how about mame and a frontend? (I hate the windows look)...
and I have no idea... compiling mame is SO simple these days.. I don't know about mame32.
James:
It was the easiest to get up and running and its whats running on my machine now so thats what I compiled. I use GameLauncher as my front end....

James, the moderators around here haven't caught you yet but that is a forbidden topic. Removing the "ok" screens is in voliation of the mame liscenseing argeement. Those are there to help remove liability from the mame dev team when some genius decides to put a mame cab in an arcade or something stupid like that.
If you search on google however you will find the answer your looking for. Or perhaps you can ask someone privately.

Howard, its only illegal if he distrubutes it. It's perfectly OK for you to compile a personal copy, just don't give it to anyone else. If he included a link to his recompiled version, the post would be removed.
Why do you think it would be forbidden? Has the Mame team's attitude about about recompiling changed recently?
Did Saint and PJ say something that I missed?
