This probably goes back to what Minwah said about drivers, etc. I'm running a Mac with OS 9 and the built in mouse drivers. I expect performance would be quite different if you're using a different OS with different drivers. -S |

Just make sure you turn off mouse acceleration - this can affect some games quite badly I believe. Apart from that I do recall I had to up the sensitivity a lot for most games with my old Oscar Model 1... |

by acceleration are you referring to the speed setting in mame (which i cranked down and that helped alot) or acc. under windows itself? |

IMHO, A spinner should always be adjusted so that there is a mechanical correlation to the on-screen action. In other words, in a game like Tempest, one revolution of the spinner should equal one trip around the "tube" (roughly). In a game like Breakout, you should be able to get from one side of the screen to the other with a little less than half a turn. And so on. I think if you stick to this rule, you can't go wrong, but it'll take some experimentation to get there based on the spinner you are using. RandyT |
