This is a noob question but what program can I use to open up those ai files? I downloaded a couple of files and would like to have them printed and made into side art but I can't view them? Thanks for the help.

some other programs may open and view it.
photshop but it will be rasterized
adobe acrobat pdf viewer

sketch
and some others.

Umm...I have GIMP 2.2 and it doesn't open .ai files. If you want to open a vector file in GIMP, you must first export it into either .wmf or .psd.
Flinkly:
what is the best kind of file to scan things as? i've got some control panels that i'm gonna scan up as best i can to help the community out.
