What is DIODE thing?
Demon-Seed:
I have been reading up on connecting xbox, DC and pc to arcade controls.. I was thinking of hacking a CB37 cable but I keep reading DIODE is easiest way? eehhehe what the heck is DIODE? any info on what it is, does and how it works?
thx

Please don't be offended by this, but you're not ready to handle diodes, based on your questions in the other topics here. Plus, for what you want to do, diodes will be *FAR* more complex. It doesn't make sense for the setup you have in mind.
Demon-Seed:
Hello
I am offended... hehe not... what are they though? if they are so good maybe someone would make em for me.
thx
Jim

They aren't good. They're needlessly complex. For what you're talking about doing you'd need (37 * 3) = 111 Diodes which is 222 solder points in addition to your controls and encoders. All that buys you is a one second time savings when you switch systems over the switch box method. Maybe less, depending on how fast you can turn a dial.
As for what a diode is, go to your local library and get a book on basic electronics. It'll cover diodes and about fifty other things that you'll need to know to get a grasp on what's involved here.
Demon-Seed:
Hello,
I am not into the diode thing.. the switch idea i understand how it works..just hope I can do it.. eheh. Is there any instructions out there that could help in details? the posts on here have truly helped thus far. Maybe I can get someone to build it for me? the switching stuff
thx
