| Are resistors directional? |

I'm building OSCAR's Super Bright LED driver. I'm using Vishay/Dale 1/4W 2% and 5% Metal Film Resistors 2% 1K OHM 1/4W and Vishay/Dale 1/4W 2% and 5% Metal Film Resistors 2% 150 OHM 1/4W resistors. The 1K Ohm resistors a red stripe on one side, followed by a red, a black, and a brown stripe on the other side. The 150 Ohm resistors have a red stripe on one side, followed by a red, a black, and a brown stripe on the other side. My question is: Does it matter which direction they're mounted in? Can they be mounted "backward"? I checked out the data sheets on these, and I don't see anything. Thanks in advance and stuff! |

They work in any direction. Diodes are the ones that only work one way. Hey when you are done let's see some pics. |

| JoeB:
most components are directional (diodes, capacitors, etc). Resistors are one of the few that are not. |
| ErikRuud:
Some capacitors are not directional. |
