Will joysticks/button combos with USB encoders work with Pandoras Box 4s?

Hi all,
I am trying to find out if joysticks/button combos with USB encoders work with Pandoras Box 4s?
In general, or if there are specific joystick combo with USB encoders that will work only -  like (sanwa, eg, happ, etc..)

Looking to pull the trigger on a EG joystick/button / usb encoder but dont know if it will work with an older pandoras box 4s or not.

Hoping someone with experience here can help guide me.

Basically i have a PandorasBox-4s and want to put it in my 1up but dont want to mess around with the jamma / pandora wiring harness, Id rather do a USB encoder setup but am unsure if the 4s will be compatible.
