For those that have requested the file - check your emails as I have sent them.
If anyone could host the file on their website I am happy to send it to them. That way I won't have to email it out to everyone who wants it ;). Let me know if this is possible.
Also - I did not create this file, someone else has but I can't remember who it was to give them the credit.
Cheers

gnat3y3, I'm sending you the file...
Anyone else can download it from:
http://www.geocities.com/jstookey/joystick/gamelist.zip
(until my bandwidth runs out)

--- Quote ---Does anyone know of a site or a way to generate a report that shows what games use what controls?
ie which use a 4-way joystick, which use an 8 way joystick, trackball, spinner, etc....
thanks..

typing mame -listinfo > filename will generate an okay output of what games use, with some errors: if the game used two different types of input (say a spinner and a 8way), only one is listed.
Another list near top of this page, not quite what you're looking for, but it lists all inputs for all games. Doesn't say if the joystick is 4way or 8way, but gets around the problem of using -listinfo. However, it has the opposite problem: some games use a common driver that lists all the inputs, but only certain games use certain inputs. So it has too many inputs for some games. Take you pick. ;)
BTW, I tried downloading the gamelist.zip, but looks like bandwidth has been exceeded for a couple hours. Sorry, but I'll try again later.
