slayerjenkins:
Hi I am planning on building or buying a control panel like SlikStik arcade's.  What I'm curious about is: is it worth it to spend the extra effort/money into getting a four-player control panel as opposed to a classic 2-player CP?

I know most people will say if you have the money and the space then go with the four player, but I want to know how often do you guys have four people playing at the same time and did you find it really rewarding to have the four-player control panel?  And do the 3rd and 4th players have a good enough angle to view the monitor?  Thanks.
Minwah:
I think if you have at least 3 friends who can come round regularly, and if you love some of the 4-player games then you'd have a great time with a 4-player cab...

I personally am not too keen on most of the 4-player games (Gauntlet excluded of course  ;D ).  Plus I am a lot more interested in retro games than anyone I know (I do have more than 3 friends, honest!) , so I figured I would be playing alone a lot - so I went for a 1 / 2 player (swappable) design.
Stingray:
I did the same as Minwah. I'm mostly into early '80s stuff, and not really interested in newer four player games. I don't have room for a giant panel anyway. Mine is a smaller classic Midway cab with swapable panels. Well only one panel so far, but I'm working on numbers two and three.

My 4 player panel is 48x19.

Lots of room for 4 players, lots of buttons and a trackball.

Check out this recent thread for lots of 4 player info:

I think that if you are questioning the utility of a 4 player cp you should just build a 2 player one and use gamepads for the third and fourth player.
